No Friends Needed for Work by ReubenHood


If you're like me than playing large legacy families can get to be a pain when it comes to careers and maintaining the necessary relationships for advancement. I made this mod because I found my self avoiding careers that had relationship requirements, and it was getting old having every Sim born in my game get a job as a painter.

This is an XML tuning mod that removes the need for relationships to get that next promotion! No more befriending that 4th townie only to have the game prune one of the other 3 from the world, thus setting you back in your friend count and other equally unfortunate circumstances.

Reasoning
I thought Cowplants were rather underwhelming as Sims had to be eaten twice in 2 days to get life essence as well as the only real downside to the plant, which was losing a Sim. After looking at the code, it looked like Sims would almost NEVER try to eat the cake while they had the drained moodlet autonomously, meaning that the only way to get life essence was to purposefully send members of the household to their doom as visitors and passerby's would never be eaten.

 Changes
This mod makes it so if a Sim tries to eat the cake, the reaper pays them a visit, no more drained moodlet. Also, hungry Sims can try to eat the cake autonomously to try to refill their hunger motive. The lack of a drained moodlet also makes it possible that visitors can be eaten by the Cowplant as well, so keep it fed unless you're trying to get some life essence.

Variable Default Relationships

Everybody in a new household gets along by default. HOW UTTERLY BORING! Want a change? Want a challenge? With variable default relationships, your next household might be completely disfunctional!

This Mod will vary the starting sim relationships when a new household is created. The relationships can range anywhere from outright hatred to the very best of friends.

Both friendship and romance relationships vary. A married sim's love may not be reciprocated, or perhaps both partners hate each other and it's purely physical, or they could be great friends but the romance has gone stale!

The variance is not purely random. For those who know about probability, the resulting relationshps are based on a gaussian distribution centered on the default relationship values.

The mod is available in three "strengths":
The default version creates the highest level of variance
The medium version is somewhat less variable
The lowest strength will generally create relationships near to the default
