Welcome to Evergreen Harbor, the sustainable city of your dreams! Join your fellow collaborative makers and sustainability activists in The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack*, coming to PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4 on June 5, 2020! How will you play to change?
Change the World
In Evergreen Harbor, every action you take and decision you make influences the state of the world around you. The cleaner Evergreen Harbor gets, the more you’ll see nature thriving. You determine whether the skies are smoggy or clear enough to see the aurora borealis glimmering above. Let garbage pile up on the streets of your neighborhood or clean it up to create lush green walking paths in town. It’s up to you!
Upgrade Your Home
New updates in Build/Buy encourage going green, too. For the first time, you can offset your bills with wind turbines, solar panels, and dew collectors. Reduce your eco footprint and invest in a living rooftop for a splash of bright color. Inside, choose between gorgeous new furniture (sustainably made, of course) or upcycle someone else’s junk into beautiful items!
Make or Break It
Speaking of reclaiming and repurposing things, why don’t you check out a new job as a maker? As you go around town, keep an eye out for collectibles and materials for your next project. Brave Sims might try dumpster diving for resources like dyes, bits and pieces, and ingredients—as long as they don’t mind the smell. Choose the Freelance Crafter career to fill mail and internet orders for your candles, fizzy juices, upcycled objects, and more! Or try to encourage your neighbors to vote for a community maker space where you can all craft together.
Use Your Voice
Unused community spaces are going to waste—literally, as a dump. Rally your neighbors to decide how to use it. To get that maker space, you’re going to need support. Want a shared planting space with vertical gardens instead? Vote for it! Every week, you can join your new community in voting for a Neighborhood Action Plan. Transform the shared lot, promote the performing arts, suggest a weekly workout, demand an upcycling initiative, or explore the many other options on the board. Just know that you could end up wearing a paper bag on your head if things go sideways….
Whatever you do in Evergreen Harbor, know that you are changing the world.
Available June 5, 2020, on PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4.
Move into a community of fellow collaborative makers to help your new neighbors decide on a Community Space Project, reduce your eco footprint, and watch your neighborhood transform. Ready for your Sims to impact their world?
Available June 5, 2020, on PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4.
Hi Simmers! Today marks the start of an exciting partnership between those of us here at Maxis, and each and every one of you. We’re here today to announce a new project where we want you to help us create an all-new Stuff Pack for The Sims™ 4. How will this work? Let us explain…
Today is the first major inflection point for this upcoming Stuff Pack, and we’re looking to you and The Sims community to guide this pack through its critical steps of development. We’re going to ask you the same questions we ask ourselves, and ultimately we’ll have a pack we can all be proud of. Development here in Maxis is always a collaborative process, with input from multiple disciplines to shape everything that we create. By adding your voices and your feedback, we’re going to make a Stuff Pack that represents your desires.
From now until April 6th, we’re gathering your votes at the bottom of this blog to help select the theme of this Stuff Pack. At this early stage of pre-production, we pair potential features with a theme to help conceptualize the pack we aspire to create. You’ll see those features mentioned in the survey, but to be clear – you are not selecting specific features in this vote. Feature selection will occur in a separate vote, at a later time in the campaign.
The entire development of this new Stuff Pack will give you a transparent look into how Maxis works together to make new experiences for your Sims. Not only will your votes help determine what we create, but we’ll also be sharing in-depth information about our progress throughout the development process. We’ll show you images and videos of the Stuff Pack throughout development, so you can see what we see when we’re building the game. You’ll have a window into our process, be it an inside look at the meetings we hold, to gaining insight into how we respond to unexpected challenges. Along the way you’re going to meet other developers on our team, and learn about what they contribute.
You can take part in a new section of our forums that’s dedicated to this project. It’s there that we’ll post regular updates, and we’ll jump in to engage in spontaneous discussions. Your feedback in the forums will be another opportunity to help shape the course of this pack. Of course, participating can be as simple as just voting. Be sure to circle the following dates on your calendar, and return to TheSims.com to make your voice heard.
• Theme Vote (April 3rd - April 6th): Select the overall theme for the pack. Every part of the pack will be influenced by this key decision.
• Art Style Vote (April 10th – April 12th): Select between proposed art styles for the pack, which will guide our concept artists in the objects and clothing they create.
• Objects & Clothing Vote (May 18th – May 21st): Browse through the concept art we’ve drawn for the pack, and select your top choices to help us determine which objects and pieces of clothing are included.
• Feature Vote (June 23rd – June 26th): Select the top gameplay feature(s) you want to have included in the pack.
• Pack Icon Vote (Fall): Peruse different icons and select the one that will appear in the pack's box art and within the in-game catalog.
• Pack Title Vote (Fall): Select a title that best summarizes the pack's atmosphere and content.
For years, we’ve worked to make Sims games that we think you’ll love. This unique opportunity to work directly with all of you has our team incredibly excited. So come on… put on your honorary Producer cap and come join us. Let’s build something great, together. We can’t wait to learn more about what we’ll start making in just a few short days!
Lace up your bowling shoes and set those pins, The Sims™ 4 Bowling Night Stuff* is coming March 29th, 2017!
Is your Sim ready to take on a fun new hobby? Well, bowling might be just the thing! In The Sims™ 4 Bowling Night Stuff your Sims can enjoy a casual night out with friends, hit the lanes with a hot date, or share a night of family fun together. And while the Mansion Baron Sims out there may choose to add a set of private lanes to their home, your average Sim wants a local bowling alley where they can meet. The Oasis Springs Dust Bowl comes ready to be placed into your world, or you can convert any Bar, Nightclub, or Lounge into a fully functioning alley.
Kids and adults alike will be able to develop their Bowling skill, all while using the bowling lane with up to four other Sims. This five level skill will reward them every step of the way, as they gain access to additional bowling balls, successful trick shots, and more. Sims that are just starting out may end up throwing the ball anywhere but the end of the lane, but those who stick it out and keep practicing will be rewarded by sending the pins flying as they work towards achieving a perfect score!
Maybe you want something even cooler for your Sim? Perhaps something that really stands out, even in the dark. How about the excitement of Moonlight Bowling? Enable this on your bowling lane and watch them light up, making your Sim Playful and increasing the fun they gain from bowling. It wouldn’t be bowling without the classic shoes, attire, and neon lights!
Mid-century modern tables, chairs, and décor add a great aesthetic touch that brings the retro bowling vibe to any lot. There’s also rockabilly-inspired tops and bottoms to help your Sim look the part, and of course traditional bowling league shirts should you want to form your own bowling crew!
We can’t wait to see your Sims hit the lanes! And we know you’re going to create some incredible bowling alleys in a variety of creative themes.
Today is a big day for The Sims™ 4. We're excited to announce the biggest update for The Sims 4 to date, and it comes in a surprisingly “little” package. Toddlers* are available as a free update for you to download into your game right now!
In the two years since we launched The Sims 4, we’ve heard from players on what they’d love to see added to the game. While we can’t always address these requests, we do take note of all of the feedback you've supplied, and what kind of experiences you are asking for. We know that the toddler life stage is an experience that many of you have consistently asked for, and it's very important to us that as we do it in a way that makes sense for The Sims 4, and feels right for our players.
I'm not exaggerating when I say we've been talking about this particular update for years. We just had to find the right time, resources and design to allow us to start the heavy process of actually building and bringing Toddlers to life. And believe me when I say it has been really REALLY difficult to not talk about this as we worked to get it right.
Toddlers is something that has been in the works for a while, and I am really proud of the work that the team has put in to creating these adorable little Sims. I think you’re really going to love how interactive they are, so get ready for a lot of cute, heart-warming moments as your Sims help their toddlers to develop new skills through using flash cards; teach them to talk; have a dance party; and encourage them to go potty. Your Sims can also bond with your toddler by reading them to sleep, carrying them around the house, or babbling away about trucks.
The Sims 4 base game has always provided a foundation upon which we've consistently grown and expanded, and we hope that Toddlers will help to capture those moments of growth and nurturing we've seen you share over the years - in addition to highlighting the special bonds between parents and toddlers as they grow. We've added over a hundred new animations, dozens of new interactions, and great new suites of outfits and objects. But most importantly, we've bridged a really meaningful part of your Sims' lives.
Supernaturals have always been a great part of The Sims, adding even more unique storytelling opportunities along with darker, crazy fun. And that’s why we’re super excited to announce The Sims™ 4 Vampires* Game Pack, coming January 24th, 2017.
For The Sims 4, we really wanted to build out Vampires more than we’ve ever done before, and we think you’ll really enjoy them. They have their own special Vampire motives and needs, focused around gaining enough Plasma, Powers and sleep. Plasma is what Vampires drink, and it comes in a few different varieties. Your Sim can purchase Plasma Packs if they’re wanting a quick fix, or grow Plasma Fruit as a more long-term option. If you want to be a more traditional Vampire, you can also creep up on unsuspecting Sims while they sleep drain Plasma from them. Or just ask nicely, but where's the fun in that?
Now, hold on, go back. Powers? Yup, Vampires have Powers! You’ll be able to use these to turn other Sims in to Vampires, and move around in different forms, and more. We’re going to talk about that in in the coming weeks, we promise. But for now we’ll just say that they add to your experience as a Vampire, gaining both powers and weaknesses which will affect your story and how you play your Vampire.
Vampires also can have two forms: regular and dark, and if you have both then your Sim will spin in to the Dark Form to perform Vampire actions. They’ve got their own creepy walk style too, that we think you'll really love. Oh, and you probably shouldn’t leave them out in daylight either. After a little while they get a bit… flammable.
This Game Pack also adds a bunch of totally new Create a Sim options! We’ve got glowing eyes and creepy eye sockets, new washed out skin tones suitable for Sims that literally never see daylight, and some really dramatic brow options to give your Vampire that sinister-ancient-being look. There's more, don't worry, but we know how much you love finding fun new stuff. Oh, and about those two forms. You’ll be able to fully customize both options, but if you’ve perfected an outfit and want it for both forms, we’ve got you covered with a handy little button to copy between them!
Wanting a whole family of Vampires? Sims can be born as a Vampire, but their powers won’t start until they age up in to Teenagers. You also won’t know until then if they got the Vampire genetics or not, as the Plumbob style won't change until then too. At that point, they’ll also stop naturally aging up. Don’t worry, you can get the trusty Birthday Cake out and age them up that way if you want to, or they can just live forever and continue their legacy in Forgotten Hollow.
Did we mention Forgotten Hollow yet?
Forgotten Hollow is the new World coming in the The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack. It’s completely different to previous The Sims 4 worlds, and makes a great place for a Vampire to live as night-time lasts long here. There’s one block, with five lots, all centered around a plaza area dedicated to Vlad, the founding Vampire of Forgotten Hollow. You’ll notice that this World looks and feels totally different to the others in The Sims 4, with creeping fog and a lot of withered, old foliage. We wanted this to feel like a centuries-old neighborhood with history and secrets, so there’s also some great Build & Buy Mode objects to help you create your perfect Vampire home. There’s also a lot trait that’ll encourage Vampires to stop by your Sim’s home more often. Don’t worry, Vampires aren’t unique to Forgotten Hollow and they will show up from time to time in other Worlds, just not as often.
Of course, no Vampire home would be complete without the classic Vampire objects. Your Vampire Sim can spend their days avoiding daylight and playing the pipe organ, which has its own skill to level up. Oh, and one more little thing. There’s also new coffin beds, that your Vampire Sim can totally WooHoo in.
Is your Sim longing for threads and furnishing that match the glamour and decadence of yester-year? Well, get ready because The Sims™ 4 is going classic with The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack*, coming next week on December 6th!
This pack has some really cool new objects to make your Sim's home feel like it’s right out of the golden age of old Hollywood. With the new vanity table, your Sim can now take their time touching-up their make-up and looking their very best, without going in to Create a Sim! Children can also play at the vanity table, with slightly messier results. And when they’re done getting ready, they can go ahead and grab a drink from their classy new 16th Century Monte Vista Globe Bar.
This pack has really great decorative items & fancy furnishings for your Sims home, including a particularly awesome giraffe lamp that every Sim is going to want in pride of place. There’s also some really cool new wallpapers that have a metallic reflective appearance, and we just know you’re going to love them!
One more little thing; your Sim will be able to live an easy life without having to lift a finger. That’s right, The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff also adds a Butler NPC that your Sim can hire to do the things they don’t want to, like cooking, cleaning, repairing broken things and tending to the garden. If your Sim spots them relaxing when they're on duty, the Butler even gets embarrassed. Don't be too mean to them though, they can also sabotage objects...
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack will be available December 6th! Excited to get your hands on this pack? Come talk to us about it on Twitter & Facebook using #TS4VintageGlamour.
From Willow Creek to Newcrest, your Sims have enjoyed life in the suburbs. The yard. The jogging. The large, luxurious houses. Don't you think it's time they move somewhere a little... busier? We agree, and that's why we're happy to announce The Sims 4 City Living Expansion Pack*, which releases on PC and Mac on November 1, 2016.
The Sims 4 City Living is set in the rich, diverse city of San Myshuno, a beautiful coastal city tucked up against the nearby mountains. You’ve never seen a city like this in The Sims! San Myshuno is packed with things to do and new people to see. Whether you're playing basketball in the Spice District or meeting with friends after work at the Karaoke Bar for a raucous good time, there are new experiences around every corner.
Better yet, why not meet some friends and head to one of the new festivals? San Myshuno is full of dynamic street life, so whether you take a hot date to the Romance Festival, or geek out at Geekcon, there’s always something new to do. There are five different Festivals that can show up, giving you plenty to see from your apartment window.
Speaking of apartments, your Sim will need to find one once they move into San Myshuno! Apartments bring with them an assortment of interesting characters and quirks. Unlike houses, you're more limited in what you can do (the landlord won't be happy with you knocking out walls and building new bathrooms), but there's a lot of gameplay found in the few hundred square feet of your Sim's new apartment.
But don't worry, not everyone who lives in the city is wanting for space. As you work your way up through one of the new careers (Politician, Critic, and Social Media), you can afford a stunning new penthouse on the top floor! Penthouses provide a totally different experience, and we can't wait to tell you more about them in the coming months.
We’ll be sharing so much more information in the near future. Before long, you’ll know everything there is to know about San Myshuno, apartments, Festivals, and more. Stay tuned and pack a small bag for the city. Your first apartment may be tiny!
The Sims 4 City Living releases worldwide for PC and Mac November 1, 2016!
Ready for a night on the town? Good news: a new free* Update to The Sims 4 adds a Nanny you can hire! But, wait, why do you need a Nanny? Well, let's look at a potential situation your Sims could theoretically find themselves in:
You’ve planned for this night... when, where, it’s all figured out. You’ve got the perfect outfit picked out, and well, he’s at least taken off that clown outfit he loves so much. It’s time to go. But oh no! You suddenly remember… you have kids! Five of them! And a baby!
You could just go, you have every other time… the mystical daycare service has never failed you. But where do your kids go, really? Is it safe? Have you ever done a background check on this “so called” daycare service? And if they really are a “daycare” service, why are they available 24 hours a day… 7 days a week?
Doubt creeps in. You start to wonder if you really should go out for a night of fun and frolicking (though you also wonder… have you ever really frolicked?) and leave your children to this so-called wondrous daycare phantom zone.
*ding dong*
What’s that? It’s a doorbell. I think the question you meant to ask was “Who’s that?”
It’s a Nanny!
Available now with an Update to The Sims 4, the Nanny has come to save your sanity! Rejoice! Your night out is still on. The Nanny will take care of your little tykes, mentor their minds, play, read, and care for their needs… while you spend a worry free night (or day, or anytime) out for fun… and yes, frolicking! Frolic my friends… frolic.
For more than 16 years, The Sims franchise has empowered players to express themselves through open gameplay and endless customization. That's why we're so excited that today's free* update to The Sims 4 features an expanded Create A Sim mode with new gender customization options, and gives our players even more ways to play with life.
For the first time, you'll be able to customize your Sims without the gender boundaries previously set in place. This means you can now create Sims with any type of physique, walk style, and tone of voice you choose – regardless of their gender.
We've also made clothing, hair, jewelry, and other visual options available to all Sims. Over 700 pieces of content previously only available to either male or female Sims, have now been made available to all Sims regardless of initial gender selection. This includes content from The Sims 4 base game and previously launched packs.
You can now dress your Sims in any attire, give them short, long or styled hair, or customize them with some personal accessories to top off their look. Through the addition of new filters and sorts in Create A Sim, what you do with these new options is entirely up to you!
The Sims is made by a diverse team for a diverse audience, and it's really important to us that players are able to be creative and express themselves through our games. We want to make sure players can create characters they can identify with or relate to through powerful tools that give them influence over a Sims gender, age, ethnicity, body type and more.
So, no matter how you like to play, we hope this update to Create A Sim gives you plenty of new options. Personally, we've had a ton of fun exploring how good many of the short hair male hairstyles look on the female Sims, and vice versa. And we’re just getting started checking out how outfits and styles look on totally different body types.
Your Sims can do more than just visit restaurants in The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack*. If they're feeling a little more ambitious, potential restaurateurs and foodies can customize their own restaurant.
There are so many ways to tweak, add spice, re-arrange, and build your restaurant that… well, let’s stop talking and start explaining! We put together a list of ways you can customize a restaurant, and even a video showing what it's like to run your own. With these tips in-hand, you'll be able to improve overall star rating, leading to higher profit and success!
Give it a Name. What’s in a name? You tell us. No, seriously. Every restaurant needs a name and we’ve given you a quick and easy way to provide one for your latest food service establishment. Pick the Aesthetic. If you’ve ever been to a restaurant review site, you know the setting and ambiance is a priority for restaurant goers. Get creative with your restaurant by making it a subterranean dungeon dining experience, or an outdoor garden, complete with a hedge maze. Put dining a few stories up to provide a view, or simply recreate your favorite hometown diner.
Stir in the Basics. The requirements for a Restaurant Venue are quite simple, which provides you with a lot of flexibility in making a unique one. You’ll need a place to use the restroom and clean up, the Host Station, Waiter Station, and Chef Station, and several Dining Spots. The Dining Spot isn’t just a table, but a combination of tables and chairs. Or, stools and tables. After all, people need to sit when eating. Sims aren’t goats!
Mix in Some Spicy Décor. If you have outdoor seating, but sure to place the all new Heat Lamp to keep your diners toasty. Add in the new booth object when you want variety from the typical dining chairs and stools. Give your kitchen that authentic feel with the food racks, and be sure to prominently display the Nectar Fridge so you look appropriate high end. Players who are themselves avid diners can place their Experimental food photographs on the walls. And, finally, the gorgeous, huge new aquariums will both look amazing and keep the day’s catch fresh for your new seafood restaurant. The decorative options in The Sims 4 Dine Out are truly the chef’s choice.
Design the Signage. One of our favorite new object suites in The Sims 4 Dine Out is our customizable sign set. Choose from a few blank signs which can be placed flat against the building, stick out, or place on the ground. Then, choose from a variety of symbols, letters, and colors, to create a sign that is unique to your restaurant. This is such a fun, simple creative tool to use with a variety of restaurants!
Define the Attire. Sims can wear practically anything, and we recognize it’s important for your stories that they look appropriate. Using a simple menu, you can define how customers dress when they arrive to dine at your restaurant. Is it a formal venue? Boom, choose formal. Do you want people to dress a little sillier? Maybe party is the way to go. Define the look from start to finish!
Clothe the Staff. Every restaurant has Chefs, Waiters, and Hosts, and they all need clothing! How much, and what, is completely up to you. You can quickly choose from a series of preset clothing, or you can enter Create a Sim for every role, and every gender for that role. Do you want your waiters wearing Bear Suits from The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat Game Pack*, or perhaps the Knight costume from The Sims 4 Get Together*? Go for it. Perhaps you want to go classy with board shorts and bikinis for your host employees? Also possible. The clothing is so crucial for creating a thematic, hilarious, or real-world mimic and the choice is up to you. Choose the Menu. Choosing the food should be an easy and tantalizingly delicious choice. And it is! Using a simple interface, you’re able to quickly select and preview menus like Diner, Brunch, Experimental, or Italian. But if you don't like the pre-set choices, you can always...
Customize a Menu. Like so many things in The Sims 4, you have the choice to customize something to make it YOUR story! You can load preset menus to tweak them slightly, or you can pick and choose each and every dish the restaurant serves. This includes the Appetizer, Main course, Dessert, and Drink options! The images are beautiful and vibrant and everything looks tasty. The hardest choice will be figuring out what NOT to serve at the restaurant!
Learn from My Library. If you aren’t sure where to begin with your restaurant, you can head over to My Library for six gorgeous pre-made restaurants that are included with The Sims 4 Dine Out. Chez Llama will show you just how beautiful a restaurant can be, while Hogan’s Burger Bar pays homage to The Sims 3 and is the neighborhood’s burger hangout. Naturally, The Diving Pelican is a seaborne seafood restaurant that will show you how the tail wags the fish. If you need inspiration, we’ll get you started!
Share to the Gallery. One of our favorite features of The Sims 4 is the Gallery, as it is the perfect way for our best creators to easily share their ideas. Plus, fans who are less inclined towards building can pick and choose from the best of the community. Be sure to share your restaurants to the Gallery as soon as you put the finishing touches on the menu! Also, it’s good to know that your staff outfits, customer dress code, and customized menu are all preserved with the physical restaurant as well!
The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack will be released on June 7. We can't wait to see what you create!
This is a game pack we've wanted to make for a long time, and based on your forum, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and carrier pigeon comments, we know many of you are as excited to try it as we were to make it. In The Sims 4 Dine Out, you’ll not only be able to take your Sims on delicious trips to beautiful pre-made restaurants, you can get creative and customise your own.
But, why stop there? The Sims 4 Dine Out lets you build, own, and run a restaurant, which means it’s time for your entrepreneurial Sims to jump out of the fire of their normal day-to-day job and into the frying pan of the kitchen. We make no excuses for our metaphors!
The Sims 4 Dine Out is full of new experiences, like experimental food, clumsy waiters, and so much more. But, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. We will dive deep into how the sausage is made in the very near future, so keep a close eye on our social channels and website to find out more in the coming weeks.
Hungry for more? Don't worry, you won't need to wait long to dig in – The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack will be released on June 7!
The Sims franchise turns 16 today! Seriously! 16 years ago on February 4, the original The Sims was released. Since then the franchise has grown and grown, with The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and, of course, The Sims 4. We wanted to celebrate the 16th Anniversary of The Sims by adding some new content in a free* Update to The Sims 4.
The stuff available in this Update wasn’t chosen randomly, either – fans who have been around since the first game might notice a common thread here. There’s one specific thing chosen to represent each base game in the franchise!
From The Sims, we’re bringing an homage to the Tragic Clown by way of a painting of the sad fool. One look at it and your Sim will walk away with a “Tragic Clown is Tragic” Moodlet. If it makes your Sim sad, why look at it? Because sometimes everyone needs a good cry. But fear not – there’s also a Plumbob Poster you can use to decorate your Sim’s room. It doesn’t do anything, but we hope that when you look at it, you’re filled with happy feelings of llamas and grilled cheese.
Speaking of grilled cheese, The Sims 2 fans likely remember the Grilled Cheese Aspiration, and we’re happy to bring it to The Sims 4. If you want your Sim to have a (mildly unhealthy) obsession with Grilled Cheese, this is definitely the way to do it.
The… wait, did someone just steal your Sim’s TV? Oh, it might be because they have the Kleptomaniac Trait from The Sims 3. Sims with this Trait can’t help but swipe objects from their neighbors, or the Club, or… well, anywhere they go.
There’s also an NPC coming back: the Gardener! With a phone call, the Gardener will come to your Sim’s house and take care of their plants. We’ve had a lot of requests for this NPC to return, and we’re really happy to include it as part of this Update.
It’s all in-game starting today, and we really hope you enjoy this celebratory Update. Happy 16th Anniversary!
Birds chirping, plants budding… it’s the season of love, and your Sims can experience it for themselves with The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack*! The stuff pack releases on February 9 and includes new objects and clothing to create the Victorian garden of your dreams.
The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack has a mixture of flowery flora and marble furnishings that enable you to build new styles of parks, or to revitalize your home’s yard. Do you prefer a manicured lawn with trimmed rose bushes and flowers entwined around a wooden trellis? Perhaps instead you want to create your own Victorian inspired botanical gardens, replete with spitting lion fountains and stately Doric columns? All of these items and more empower you to create lush landscapes for romantic moments like dates, proposals, and weddings – or simply to enjoy a lovely afternoon outdoors.
Your Sims can make use of a new Fountain of Gluteus Maximus which serves as far more than a pretty backdrop. Sims can sit along the fountain’s edge and cuddle, even flicking water on each other in a lighthearted show of affection. When feeling especially whimsical they can climb inside to play around, or take it a step further and engage in a spirited bout of splashing with a friend. If feeling particularly mischievous, Sims can go as far as adding soap to the fountain and enjoy watching the water churn into a froth of bubbles.
What’s more, the stuff pack also includes the Whispering Wishing Well, and woe to the Sim who underestimates the power it wields. A single Simoleon is all it takes to cast a wish, be it for happiness, wealth, a child, youth, love, and more… but the Wishing Well is known to be quite temperamental, and one should carefully gauge not only what they wish for, but when they wish for it. Over fifty different outcomes ensure that your Sim’s life may be altered forever… though it may end in rejoicing, or in personal tragedy.
You’ll discover all of these objects when visiting The Lost Gardens of Healing, a brand new Park Venue included in the stuff pack that creates a picturesque backdrop to any romantic story. Your Sims will want to look their best when visiting, and modern floral fashion and hairstyles will help you give them a proper spring makeover. As they stroll the park’s grounds they’ll be serenaded by the new Baroque radio station, which includes a lovely melody of music inspired by the 1600s to set the mood.
The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack releases on February 9th – come take a stroll through its gardens and see if it’s everything you wished for!
When The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* comes out on December 8 in North America, you’ll be experiencing something totally new: Clubs! With Clubs, you’ll be able to lead groups of Sims in a Gathering, where they’ll follow Club rules, do Club activities, and react to situations in the ways their Club suggests. Sims in a Gathering will even break their own rules in favor of keeping in line with the Club’s rules
.
You’ll be able to join a pre-made Club, like the food-obsessed Upper Crusts or the stylish Paragons, but you can also create your own! Here are all of the ways you can customize your own Clubs.
Choose your Club’s name. Obviously, before you start doing anything else, you’re going to want to decide what to name your Club. You could go with something fairly generic (The [THING] Club!), or try to think of something cooler – like an inside joke!
Pick Your Club Logo. When Sims are in a Gathering, little icons float above their heads showing that they’re hanging out with their Club. There are dozens to choose from, so you’ll be able to find the perfect insignia for your Club to use.
Set Club Requirements. Do you want your Club to be open to anyone and everyone? Or do you want it to be a bit more… exclusive? You can decide what sorts of people are allowed in by choosing Age Groups, Skill Levels, and even Traits that your Club members are required to have.
Choose Club Activities. Here’s where things start getting really exciting. You’re able to choose from a list of over 100 Activities that you can encourage Club members to do when they’re in a Club Gathering – things like Play Instrument, Cook, Swim, Tell Jokes, View Art, and (a lot) more. Your Club can have five Encouraged Activities, which creates a ton of possibilities!
Set Club’s Banned Activities. On the other side of the coin, you can also choose up to five things that your Club members aren’t supposed to do. When you mix these with the Club Activities, you get some absolutely crazy options. Want your members to Hug, Kiss, be Romantic, but never to WooHoo when in a Club Gathering? You can do that!
Make Your Activities More Specific. Besides being able to choose Club Activities and Banned Activities, you can take it a level deeper and say who your Members are supposed to do these things with. Your Club members might love swimming, but maybe they won’t swim with members of another specific Club. Or maybe they flat-out can’t talk to specific members of other Clubs. Break the rules, and your Sim might get kicked out of the Club!
Create a Club Outfit. Want your Club members to all wear a matching jacket and hat (with a matching Club logo) when they enter a Club Gathering? Want them to wear matching… hot dog costumes? You’re able to choose their outfits, personalizing your Club’s style as much as you want.
Pick a Hangout. A Club needs a place to hang out, right? When you’re making your Club, you can make their Hangout a general place, like any Bar or any Gym, or a specific place in the world. Different Club types call for different Hangout types – a Foodie Club might want to check out any café they can find, whereas a Workout Club might only want to frequent a specific gym.
Customize a Hangout Location. If you want to personalize your Hangouts even more, you can choose to have your Club gather at a specific lot, and then use door locks to only allow access to your Club to make an exclusive place that only they can enter. This means that an Art Club can have a secret backroom where only thebest artwork is held, or the Gaming Club could have a special room with extra computers to play on. There’s also special Club décor you can unlock to help you customize your Hangout even further.
Unlock a Club Vibe. The more your Sims preform Club activities, the more Club points you’ll earn. These can be used to unlock a slew of Perks, like secret handshakes and Club vibes. Club vibes are emotions that your members will feel once they’re in a Gathering, so you can make your Workout Club automatically Energized, or your Romance Club Flirty during Club Gatherings.
Get Club Skill Boosts. There are other Perks besides Club Vibes, though – you can also get Skill bonuses, meaning that your Sims will gain skill at an increased rate while in a Club Gathering. Mix that together with a Vibe, and you can end up with some really interesting results. An Art Club that gains Artistic skill faster and is always Inspired can be pretty awesome at cranking out incredible paintings.
We built the Club system to be as robust as possible, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things you’re going to create with them when The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack launches in December!
Double, trouble boils below;
Tombstones smoke and caldrons glow.
Tempt the Spooky Candy Bowl,
Carve a Pumpkin for passed souls!
In other words, we’re happy to announce that The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff* is coming on September 29, and comes with the stuff you need to plan and execute the perfect Spooky Party.
Transform your Sim’s home with ghoulishly fun decorations, including creepy paintings, spider webs, and all manner of tattered furniture. Want to temporarily (or… permanently) turn your Sim’s home into a creepy house of horrors? Go for it.
The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff includes two new gameplay objects: the mischievous Spooky Candy Bowl and a new Pumpkin Carving Station. Your Sims can make festive works of carved art, creating the jack-o-lantern of their dreams. And once they’re done, Ghost Sims can take a candle-lit pumpkin, put it on their head, and haunt up the night!
If you’re looking to throw a Spooky Party (a new type of party in The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff), you can do just that. Besides being able to decorate your Sim’s home with the new objects to set the eerie mood, there are also three new ghoulish recipes: an Eyeball Cheese Plate, Zombie Cake, and Spooky Cookies. You can even ask other Sims for party treats (though don’t be surprised if they play a trick on your Sim instead).
A variety of new costumes are also available to help make your party stand out, from Pirates and Ninjas to Super Llamas and Fairies, there are a bunch of great outfits for Sims young and old. Of course, these costumes aren’t restricted to use at Spooky Parties, either – if you want to dress your Sim like a Witch year-round, you can totally do that.
The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff releases worldwide on September 29 – are you excited to throw a party that everyone will be dying to attend?
Your Sims’ wanderlust is at a fever pitch. They want to go somewhere totally different – a place where they can make new friends, see new sights, and have new experiences. They want to bust a move at a secret dance party at the Ancient Ruins. They want to enjoy a delicious espresso in a swanky Café. They want to live it up like they never could before. They want something... new. And soon, they’ll get just that.
We’re excited to announce that The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* releases worldwide this November! Here’s the first trailer, giving just a taste of what it has to offer.
The Sims 4 Get Together introduces Windenburg, a European-inspired World with a mix of vibrant, modern architecture and classic buildings and styles. From the charming countryside, to the bustling town square and luxurious island, Windenburg is filled with new things for your Sims to see and do.
But you’re not going to be exploring these new sights alone. As the name suggests, Get Together is all about your Sim having fun with their friends, whether they’re leading their own exclusive Clubs or exploring Windenburg.
Your Sims will be able to join different Clubs, each with their own interests, personalities, and styles. They have defined behaviors that dictate how they tend to act, including how they treat other Sims, and what they do or don't like to do. There will be a variety of Clubs waiting for your Sims when you first load up the expansion pack, but you’re also able to create and customize your own. You can set their requirements, decide what behaviors they have, choose their preferred hang outs, and even give them distinct rewards.
Hanging out with groups of friends makes Get Together feel truly unique. Your Sim’s in-game friends will act a lot like your real ones – whether you’re going for a dip in the Natural Pools along the bluffs or just lounging around in the pub, groups will engage in new, exciting ways. Your Sim can take on their friends in a game of foosball, or try on outfits together with the all-new Walk-in Closet. They’ll hang out and share experiences together in fun, new ways.
Your Sims will also be able to level up Dancing and DJing skills, both of which should make for even more energetic gatherings. Pump up the crowd by creating the perfect mix on the DJ booth, or start busting out some new dance moves in an Underground Disco.
We can’t wait to start going into more details on what makes this expansion pack special. Expect to hear more in early October, and get ready to explore Windenburg this holiday season when The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack releases!
Does your Sim spend their free time making hearty breakfasts, luscious lunches, and delightful dinners? Good news: it’s time for dessert! The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff* is coming on August 11 and it’s perfect for all of your foodie Sims!
Cool Kitchen Stuff has everything you need to upgrade your Sim’s kitchen, with new, sleek appliances and furnishings meant to help give the room a modern flare. From stylish cabinets with frosted glass doors to new stainless steel appliances, the stuff pack is filled with awesome new items to totally reinvent your Sim’s kitchen. Your Sims will look good as they create new delicacies thanks to new hairstyles and apparel perfect for any chef-to-be.
But besides making things look cooler, your Sims will also have a lot more cool stuff to do in the kitchen (pun intended). With the new Ice Cream Maker, your Sim can make ice cream, gelato, or soft serve! Better yet, your Sims will be able to garnish their ice cream with a variety of toppings. Banana slices, whipped cream, sprinkles and more – your Sim’s sweet tooth will be fulfilled. There are 30 flavors to create, some of which might leave your Sim with… unusual abilities.
Oh, and before you start to worry about all the dirty dishes these new creations will make, you should know about something else. The week before The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff releases, a dishwasher will be added to The Sims 4 for free** in an Update for all players!
The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff releases worldwide on August 11 – are your Sims ready to scream for ice cream?
Want to keep customers out of the back room of your Sim’s retail store? Want to lock the door to your Sim’s room so they can crank up the music and have a dance party for one? Want gender-specific changing rooms in your gym? Boot up The Sims 4 and you’ll be able to download an Update to the game that’ll let you do just that! Locked doors are coming to The Sims 4, and they’re going to be free* for everyone who downloads the Update. They’ll be joined by half walls, which will let you divide areas while still keeping them open and modern.
First, let’s talk about locked doors. After the release of The Sims 4 Get to Work* we heard the calls for employee-only rooms loud and clear, so we made sure to include that option. There are also more standard locks, like the ability to lock a door so only your Sim can get in, or being able to lock it for a household. If you’re tired of random Sims walking into your Sim’s room and taking a nap on their bed at 2:00AM, you’ll be able to prevent that with door locks. We’ve also added new gender-specific doors to the catalog, which open up some cool possibilities for improvements to some of the Venues in the game.
Half walls were exciting to work on, too. Most of the time, we’ve seen players asking for them to put around their counters, so we absolutely included a size that works for that. But we also wanted to allow for more creativity, so we added four additional sizes, bringing the total number of half wall sizes to five.
The three medium heights give you a range of options for living room dividers, borders for stoves and counters, or eye-level spots to hold fancy decorations. They’re also a handy place to put your drink! We also added a low (1-1/2’ height) wall that works great as an architectural border piece, as well as a tall wall that can be used to make enclosed spaces within rooms, especially when using taller full-height walls. Half walls are super easy to place, too – if you’ve ever put a fence down in The Sims 4, you already know how to build a half wall.
The Update is now available, so get ready to start building half walls and locking doors – and don’t forget to share your new creations on The Gallery when you do!
After getting to work in April, we figured your Sims could use even more Zen – and what’s more relaxing than a luxurious spa? The Sims 4 Spa Day Game Pack* is coming later this month!
As you might expect, The Sims 4 Spa Day includes a new type of venue, the Spa. When you get the pack, three new Maxis-made Spas and a new gym will be added to your My Library, to be placed wherever you want. They come in various shapes and sizes, so you can find the Spa that best suits your personality (or, of course, you can make your own).
Once at the Spa, Sims can hang out (and WooHoo!) in a sauna or get a relaxing massage. There are a number of fun new interactive objects for your Sims to enjoy in the Spa, from the massage chair to the mud bath, which we will reveal more about soon. But that’s not all that’s included in the game pack.
Your Sims can also build Wellness skill by giving massages, doing Yoga, and Meditating. The more they take part in these new activities, the better they’ll get at each. Higher Wellness means new Yoga poses, the ability to give superior Massages, and a special Meditation surprise that we don’t want to spoil for you!
